Mark Greaney : the new gen thriller writer
His Gray Man series has captured readers of the genre and fired their imagination
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, Mark Greaney is the son of Ed Greaney, a presence at WMC-TV Memphis for over 50 years. Greaney has degrees in political science and intentional relations in which would later play a major part in his writing career. He is an American novelist focusing on the thriller genre. He is best known as Tom Clancy's collaborator on his final books during his lifetime, and for continuing the Jack Ryan character and the Tom Clancy universe following Clancy's death in 2013. He is also known for the Gray Man series of novels, which was produced by Netflix into a feature film.
Greaney's debut intentional thriller. The Gray Man was released by Jove Books in 2009. It became an international bestseller and was nominated for a Barry Award in the Best Thriller category. It was also made into a film by New Regency Pictures. His next thriller. On Target, was released in September 2010, followed by Ballistic in 2011.
Greaney resides in Memphis, with his wife Allison.
