The Kingdom is the third novel in the Fargo series by Clive Cussler, author of the Dirk Pitt novels such as Treasure of Khan, Arctic Drift, Sahara and Atlantis Found. It follows the adventures of treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo after their earlier adventures in Spartan Gold and Lost Empire.

Whether it is lost treasure or missing persons, the Fargos find themselves in a heap of trouble every time they put their fingers and minds into the case they are given or encounter.

So when an eccentric Texas billionaire and oil baron Charlie King contacts Sam and Remi Fargo, he has an unusual request to ask of them. He's hired an investigator. Frank Alton who's a good friend of the Fargos, to locate his missing father in the Far East. But now, the investigator has vanished. So King asks if Sam and Remi would be willing to look for them both?

Despite their reservations and suspicion about King's request, Sam and Remi agree to help out. If only to find Alton and hopefully, King's father, Lewis ‘Bully’ King who's disappeared for 38 years since 1973.

This time, the journey takes the Fargos to Tibet, Nepal, Bulgaria, India, and China. They get mixed up with black-market fossils, even a centuries-old puzzle chest, the ancient Nepali kingdom of Mustang, a balloon aircraft from a century before its time and an extraordinary skeleton that might turn the history of human evolution on its head. In the midst of all these, they also meet some unfriendly people with guns and have close encounters with life threatening situations. But with their ingenuity, the Fargos manage to survive the odds to fight another day.

Like all Cussler thrillers, there are the requisite beautiful, brilliant, wealthy, athletic, expert protagonists, facing off the greedy, evil, cruel, conniving foes and Cussler fans will definitely love it. Cussler stories always begin with a fascinating mix of history, science, fact, and fiction and The Kingdom, written together with Grant Blackwood has all of these elements and more.

Readers will be taken on a suspenseful ride by the authors as Sam and Remi navigate their journey in search for answers in an attempt to bring down King with his nefarious plan in this thriller.
